Bert J. Debusschere
Bert Debusschere is a Senior Member of the Technical Staff at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA, where he has been working since 2001. Before joining Sandia, Bert obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. Bert has a broad expertise in the fields of fluid dynamics, turbulence, microfluidics, multiscale simulation, heat and mass transfer, spectral methods for probabilistic uncertainty quantification, and stochastic dynamical systems. Projects he is currently working on include the development of spectral methods for the analysis of stochastic reaction networks, and the development of a heterogeneous multiscale simulation framework for the simulation of ionic flux through nanoporous membranes for electrodesalination.
